  TERM DATES + TIMETABLE

We believe top quality training is reliant on having good training partners and is team-based (as opposed to say a gym where individuals just drop in/out), so it is important for us that we run by terms, each intake tracking together and growing in skills together. We ask people to join us at the start of each term, as bringing on new people mid-term can be bit disruptive for current students, as we will need to bring new folks up to scratch.

2024 Term 1:    Monday January 29th - Saturday April 13th (11 Weeks)

2024 Term 2:    Monday April 29th - Saturday July 6th (10 Weeks)

2024 Term 3:    Monday July 22nd - Saturday Sept 28th (10 Weeks)

2024 Term 4:    Monday October 14th - Saturday December 21st (10 Weeks)

  MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS + FEES

If you are serious about learning self defence, we ask you to start by joining for a term of 10 weeks. It takes time to develop mindset, tactics, techniques and physical conditioning. Mastering a skill requires dedication, and developing discipline and commitment is part of all martial training. There is no such thing as 'easy' shortcuts for self-defence. On a practical level, having classes made up of consistent attendees and regular training partners, ensures our classes run smoothly and your experience is of the highest quality and enjoyment. Therefore, fees are charged on a per term basis.

Membership options ranging from $20/wk - $38/wk:

  • Option 1 Standard:  You plan to attend 1x class per week. Most people choose this option to start with.

  • Option 2 Unlimited:  You plan to attend multiple classes per week. Unlimited access to all classes.

  • Option 3 Student / Teen:  Concession available for teens or those with full time Student ID.

  • Option 4: Partner / Family: Concession available for your partner or family members (living in same house).

Our fees are in accordance with good quality schools in NZ, Australia and around the world, and costs around the price of a takeaway meal each week. Fees are paid upfront for the term, but payments in instalments are fine.  Please enquire.

  • Memberships can be used at any location or class. You can change class week to week if you need.

  • Membership is committing to paying for the entire term you have joined, and is non-refundable.

  • Membership is valid for the current term and unfortunately cannot be extended unless you were injured in class.

  • Beware of schools that charge less than everyone, as there are often hidden membership costs.

  • When it comes your safety and your skills, don't go cheap. Do the research about our heritage. You deserve quality.

  • After your trial period you will be invoiced. Payment is via direct bank transfer.

There are ten levels (L1-L10) in the Krav Maga system, and with consistent weekly attendance, a student may possibly progress through one level of the system, every 2-3 terms (this varies depending on individual ability). Grading will evaluate your skills under stress-testing. Standards are high. You must demonstrate for the level you are grading for:

  1.   Physical Coordination + Movement  (e.g. accurate movement, coordination and control, safety and awareness)

  2.   Strong + Fast + Aggressive Counter-Attacks  (e.g. striking power, speed, grit, endurance and aggression)

  3.   Instinctive Reaction and Defence  (e.g. familiarity of techniques, good reactions)

  4.   Krav Maga Mindset  (e.g. controlled aggression, determination, instinct, teamwork, humility, respect)

  5.   Sound Knowledge of Tactics  (e.g. timing, phases of confrontation, legal responsibility)

To pass a grade a student must demonstrate full competence in their grading level and show good understanding/memory of all techniques, mind set, physical accuracy and control. Students must meet Protect Krav Maga's 'performance under pressure' standards. We also take into consideration such factors as consistency of attendance, attitude, humility, cooperation, focus and attention during training sessions, as much as a student’s knowledge of the Krav Maga syllabus to the level they wish to grade.

BEGINNER LEVELS - L1 / L2 / L3 (white / yellow belts*)

INTERMEDIATE LEVELS - L4 / L5 / L6 (orange / green belts*)

ADVANCED LEVELS - L7 / L8 / L9 (blue / brown belts*)

GRADUATE LEVEL - L10 (red / black belts*)

(*Grades are granted via certificates not belts, but displayed here are each L-level and its belt equivalent)

When you successfully pass a grading you will receive an official TSKM Certificate of Level Achievement. This is a globally recognised official record affiliated with Major Itay Gil’s Protect Krav Maga association of schools, and part of The Federation of Israeli Martial Arts (F.I.M.A) family of schools worldwide.

  CODE OF CONDUCT

Attendance is acceptance that you will abide by the TSKM Code of Conduct. We reserve the right to refuse training without refund to anyone who does not follow the academy rules. Mature minded people only. Teens (15+) can attend if parents can sign consent/waiver forms and prove to be mature minded.
